Thoughts on CSI:NY, DL, Mootana, and whatnot - More than likely will contain spoilers
I haven't done this in a while because well, I didn't really want to stop and take the time for it but what the hell. Today it's nice outside despite the clouds and I'm sitting here on my back porch with my laptop and the quiet (kids are inside playing) and I thought I'd pitch in my two cents (on my LJ this time) about my feelings on DL and Lindsay and CSI:NY in general and whatever else I think up.
First things first. DL (as shitty as it may be) is canon. I know that and frankly, I don't give a damn because I can ignore canon to fill my fanon needs. I don't need my ship to be canon to make me happy. I have fiction (read as well as sometimes write) and RPGs where my ship is together and happy. I don't care what is canon.
Please explain to me why, if your ship is canon, would you care what others thought? YOUR SHIP IS CANON! Does it really matter if others hate it? I'll tell you one thing right now, tptb will EVER convince me to like DL no matter how hard they try because you see, I have a brain and can think on my own. So they're canon, big f-ing deal.
I am happy that Danny is so excited about having a baby and I have to laugh that he is much more excited about that than he is about Lindsay. He couldn't even give Mac a straight answer when he asked if Lindsay was right about why Danny wanted to marry her. If Danny was so sure about them as a couple, Danny would have immediately said 'NO, she's not.' but he didn't. He stammered along until he had me laughing. Mac was right about regrets because one of these days Danny is definitely going to regret marrying her.
Danny is so obsessed with doing the right thing that the wedding just made me laugh that much harder. Telling her "I'll be the man you want me to be." was just pathetic. What kind of good and loving relationship could they possibly have if one person has to make themselves change just to make the other happy? It's more proof that Danny will do anything he can to please anybody. I'm still trying to figure out just where the rule is that OMG you must get married to have a baby that you conceived when you weren't even together. Babies don't automatically make problems go away. Temporarily yes but in the long run, the problems that you had will still be there but now they''ll be an innocent child thrown into the mix.
So the ship is canon, they're married, and they're having a baby in episode 23. What's the problem? It's certainly not a problem for me. It's entertaining in a 'making fun of them' kinda way and while I hope that season 6 isn't full of the Messer family drama shit I know it will be, watching them crash and burn will be totally worth it.
Thanks so much Anna for screwing up what would have been an awesome season 5 with Rikki having Danny's baby. That made much more sense than what we're getting but how often do tptb ever do anything that makes sense? The finale is a great example. Yep, let's give Flack a woman. Let's show him happy with Jess. Let's give the non-DL fans a canon relationship that actually works and is a hundred times better than DL and then let's take it all away by killing her off. WTF is up with that? Can tptb not handle the fact that FA, in a few short months, is much better than the three plus seasons they've pushed DL in our faces? Were they getting too much good feedback on FA? So irritating.
The reason I do not like DL and Lindsay has nothing to do with me thinking I am or wanting to be Lindsay. I'd rather cut off my right arm than be her. I do not think Danny or Don is my boyfriend (that would be a bit pathetic). They totally love each other. XD I love Danny and Don both but I have to admit that Don is my favorite. I also do not hate Jess. I like her and I think she and Flack are sweet together and I'm gonna be sad to see Don lose his girlfriend.
I thought Rikki was a sweetheart who was good for Danny no matter what brought them together. Danny showed more affection and love toward her in just a few minutes than he has for Lindsay in over three seasons. What's that say about DL? I also think that if Danny and Rikki would have had a child, he may have felt less guilt over Ruben. No child will ever replace Ruben but Danny could have felt like he gave her something he felt he took away. Unfortunately we'll never know how well season 5 could have been with no DL, Danny with Rikki, and Lindsay doing whatever the hell they'd do with her. I'd hate to play a character that tptb really didn't bother to develop outside of one character.
I think that's all for now. I moved back inside when it cooled down a bit and started raining and now my little chatterbox (Dylan) has been talking nonstop.

no subject
DL is such a joke and now that there's a baby involved, poor child.
I'd LMAO if viewership really dropped after all this mess. I know quite a few people who have given up on the show.
