Why do certain people feel the need to harp on one subject over and over???

I'm mad as hell and thought I'd share it with my LJ friends and anyone else who wants to read it. It got kinda long so I had to put it behind the cut.

There was this person over on TalkCSI who hated the way all of the Danny/Flack fics were full of porn. It just wasn't right and their relationship wasn't "healthy". Her words, not mine. Frankly, I think her way of thinking isn't "healthy". WTF's wrong with slash?? Also, WTF's wrong with slash and porn?? Nothing. So, why does she feel the need to keep going on and on about how mean everyone was to her because she didn't "fit in" with our way of thinking. She thought we were all picking on her.

Well, if you don't get slash then you just don't get it. Danny/Flack fans always welcome new fans to the pairing but could one person whine just a little bit more? We all love our Danny/Flack, we all love our Danny/Flack porn, and we all love our Danny/Flack authors. Why does one person try to ruin it for me and for the rest of us? If slash turns you off so much, then quit reading it. Nobody's forcing you too.

It's strange but once she quit posting on TalkCSI, someone else started posting that is eerily similar to her. They have the same tastes, like the same person, don't like slash, don't like porn, bought their season 2 dvd's at the same time. Even both of them saying they couldn't afford to but had to have them. If they are two different people, I'd be surprised. She deleted her LJ only to open up another one with a different user name.

Yeah, I was stupid enough to ask the new person (which I still think is her) which stories she was talking about that she liked and she pm'd me and gave me the link to the new LJ. So yeah, I know everything she says and that includes all the bitching she does about the Danny/Flack fans on TalkCSI. All the bitching about slash. All the bitching about the fact that we don't agree with Don being paired up with an ex-con. Why the fuck does she care what we think? Does she want our approval? Because I really don't give a shit what she writes about. I just get amused at reading her LJ. Damn, get a life and get back on your meds.

I am one of many Danny/Flack fans who love them just the way they have been written in fanfiction. Don't like it, then why the hell read it? I must add that Kimmychu is one of the best Danny/Flack writers there are. Her story 9 Months is great. But this person just couldn't grasp the meaning of AU. She ranted on and on about how "wrong" it was for 2 men to have a baby. Geez, it's not real. It's for fun. If she can pair up a detective with an ex-con, I certainly see nothing wrong with Danny getting pregnant with the help of aliens and Danny and Flack having baby Danielle. We love it Kimmy.

i can't stand people like that. especially people who bitch about the fact that they can't stand AU. because that's with my imagination anything goes. i'd rather hear nothing at all than rants about how it's stupid.

No, 9 Months is not really high on the smexing. It's been a while since I've read it but the porn is only in being part one. It's one of the funniest fics I've read. Just skim over the smexing and you'll love the rest.

I think I know who you mean, but I'm not certain. I haven't a clue why so many folks bleat endlessly about things that purportedly hold no interest for them. Admittedly, I grind my axe about the shitty writing on the show, but I don't pee on the parades of people who find the writing stellar. Additionally, if I don't like something, like Flack/Danny fic, I don't read it. It saves a lot of time and grief. I wouldn't want folks who detest OFCs ruining my fun, so I try not to ruin it for anyone else. Maybe she just likes the feel of a drama llama between her thighs.

If everyone felt the way you do about not reading fiction you don't like, they would be much happier. I don't read fic I don't like. Why upset myself and get pissed if I know it's not what I like?

Yeah, I have a feeling I know who you're talking about. I stumbled over her LJ after playing around with ljseek.com ... great search engine to browse through LJs via typing in your own keywords. I wouldn't have known who you were mentioning until you talked about her story of Flack and the ex-con.

And dude. I so have the suspicion she's got a thing against D/F fans now because some D/F fans did not like that story, non?

Oh yeah, she was not happy that people didn't like that story. Well, it's not that I didn't like it. Just to me, I couldn't see it. I'm not saying that she shouldn't write her story. I'm just saying that I'm not gonna read it. Too bad she wasn't the same way. She'll read a really porny story (which I love) and then complain that it's all about sex and there's no romance involved. I know D/F love each other. That's a given so I want the sex too.

I know just what you mean about the ranting. I tried, time and again, to be nice to this person, to explain to her that her opinion was just as welcome as mine, that I didn't think she was *wrong* even if I didn't agree, etc. How much effort should I have to put into making a fellow fan happy with the ship they chose to follow?

I should also mention that my only problem with this person occurred when the ranting became not only that she wasn't happy with the ship as it exists in fanon, but also the implication that to like the ship as it is means you're perverted. Sorry, but I don't appreciate that shit. For someone to constantly assert that they don't write sex in their fanfiction, etc, just gets annoying--if it's not rated M, I'm not going to assume that there's sex. I'm not stupid. And, you know, if she read all of the fanfiction that I read, she'd know that it spans the entire spectrum from PG ratings up to M, from the fluffiest lovey-dovey stuff to the uber-porn. Just because we like to talk about the sex doesn't mean that's all there is to it. I don't like someone telling me that, essentially, anal sex is disgusting and that if I think they do that it means I don't think they're in love. Excuse me, I'll decide what I think, thank you very much.

In any case, I agree with La Guera, if you don't like something, don't read it, but don't constantly bitch about the people who do. I said on TalkCSI that I couldn't see Flack dating an ex-con, and her 'friend' basically told me that it's no stranger than Danny/Flack. She's the one who brought slash into it, not me. I don't think two men in a relationship is strange, but I think a true-blue NYPD cop wouldn't rush out to date an ex-con. I *think*, I don't pretend that other people can't feel that way, I was just expressing how I felt. I haven't read the story, so I can't say what it's about, but I said, on no uncertain terms, that since I can't see the pairing I won't be reading the fanfic. It's that simple, I wish she'd get that.

Danny and Flack don't always have sex, slash isn't full of perverts, and constantly ranting and acting as though your opinion is more 'tasteful' than mine isn't going to change my mind or endear you to anybody. Honestly, I'm glad she stopped posting on the message boards. She was ruining my fun, and that pisses me off.

And it's interesting to note that I've started writing fanfiction and only just posted my first story with actual sex in it. And in every story I've written, I've tried to get across their feelings for each other. Would a pervert who is just in the ship for the porn bother with that? I didn't think so.

I've never written any fics either with actual sex in it but I am working on one now for Halloween. Not too sure how it will turn out (the porn that is). It's not just about the sex either, I get across their feeling in it too.

I'm glad she stopped posting on Talk and BC. I don't miss her and I've never felt that way about anybody on the boards before.

I hate that kind of people. They exist only to stress the others, just to be at the centre of attention.
I'm not a great reader of FF (need to translate 50% of them LOL), but I have no problems with slash, porn or whatever FF! :)

I think most of us are smart enough to know that if we don't like something (whether it be porn, slash or anything else) we won't read it. At least not more than once.
I just don't understand her need for approval from Danny/Flack fans. **shrugs**

I will say that I'm not a HUGE Danny/Flack slash reader, I would if I had more time, but in my book, two hot boys getting in on... who wouldnt want to read that?? lol... I'm a come and go kinda gal, some days I dont mind a good Slash fic, other days I'm like.. meh, no thanks.

HONESTLY, if you dont like a fic or a ship then dont read it, dont come into a forum where the majority likes the ship/fic and diss on it, thats just asking for trouble... stupid people... urgh.

I loved Kimmy's '9 Months' one of the funniest stories I've ever read... :) I know how ya feel. Its kinda the same thing with Aiden/Lindsay people liked one, hate the other, or visa-versa, if you dont like it, then theres no need to go reading into it.. :)

This brings me back to 2nd Grade when you got in your first verbal argument with another kid, and the teacher would always say " If you dont have anything nice to say, dont say anything at all"... *shakes head* its a shame some people cant grow up..
